“ An intriguing spot with an innovative menu combining Aranese cuisine with a touch of South Africa. The decor counts sins many African artefacts creating a quite different atmosphere to most of the local places. The desserts deserve a special call out. My cactus pot sorbet was spectacular. Tasted as good as it looked and right up my street with a citrusy tang in the aloe Vera sorbet contrasting well with the gingery “earth” in the pot ”

The food was nothing short of exceptional. We started with the baked goat cheese with butternut squash, which was perfectly balanced—creamy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For our mains, we had the entrecôte and pulpo (octopus), both cooked to perfection with incredible depth of flavor paired with a beautiful glass of Pinotage as per recommendation. To top it all off, we ended our meal with the best homemade cheesecake we’ve ever had—light, creamy, and absolutely delicious! The ambiance was warm and cozy, with a rustic charm that made us feel instantly at home. What truly set Pinotage apart, though, was the hospitality. The owner personally welcomed us and shared that we were the first Filipinos to ever visit the restaurant, making the evening even more special. His warmth and passion for what he does were evident in every detail. If you’re in the Val d’Aran region, Pinotage is a must-visit.
